Nyame Do means "God's Love"

The beginning

It all started with an idea, from three people in Iowa, to raise money to build a women's center in Asikuma, Ghana.

Found the perfect spot

The perfect spot was found to build the women's center on. Graciously, the land was donated, making this project fall right into place. The land was donated by the Chief of the village. It was the best case scenario because it was on the same grounds as Acts2 Collective's Children's Center and school.

Broke ground

The funds were raised from an auction and outside donors, and the reality of the center began to take place.  Nyame Do would become the official name of the center at this point. Nyame Do means "God's love" in twi, the native language of the village.

Building done!

January 21st, 2017 the women's center was completed. The inauguration ceremony was held, along with the ribbon cutting.

Instructors

A set of instructors were hired to provide the education for the women who would be attending the training school.

20 women were chosen to participate

This multi-functioning building is home to twenty women who are given a two year curriculum in which they are taught the trade of sewing.

Providing them with life long skills

The two year curriculum allows the women the ability to receive government certification in these skills which endorses them to work anywhere in Ghana, thus providing for themselves and their children.

This was a huge event in the history of the women's center. The inauguration brought many people from the village to the center in Ghana. There was native music and dancing. Along with the celebration a ribbon cutting ceremony took place to show the significance of the building opening.
